A great fielder
[edit]What seems to be missing from this article is Shinjo's extraordinary ability as an outfielder. I followed him a bit when he was a San Francisco Giant and was amazed by his ability to track deep fly balls. I always thought the Giants lost some games when they didn't use him as a defensive replacement in close late inning games.
