My source [Cox, Thomas R. (2017). Charles A. Geyer (1808-1853). In Rachel Potter & Peter Lesica (Eds.), Montana’s Pioneer Botanists (pp. 17-25). Missoula, MT: Montana Native Plant Society.] cites that Karl (Charles) Geyer arrived at the mission in 1843 and stayed off and on until 1844. He had left the US and was in England in 1845.
