[edit]This is a fine start. Do be sure to proofread - name of the leader is spelled 2 different ways and repeated at the end:Dwebsterbu (talk) 01:37, 24 February 2016 (UTC)
The commission operated from 2002-2004, with a final report being presented to the United Nations Security Council and Sierra Leonian president Ahmed Tijan Kabbah on October 5th, 2004.[2] Ahmed Tijan Kabbah, President of sierra Leone on 5th October 2004

[edit]The lead section explains what the commission was creating for. It gives the reader the basic he/she need to have. As Dr. Webster told you, you wrote the name of the president differently.
The structure of the article is good, but your article is not finished so I do not have all the information to clearly understand your commission.
The neutral point of view is present, and the sources are good as well.
It is a good start for the article. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Churdle2014 (talk • contribs) 22:41, 15 March 2016 (UTC)
Article Review
[edit]Great article Scott!
May want to revise – “The aims of the Sierra Leone Truth Comission was to establish "an impartial historical record of violations and abuses of human rights and international humanitarian law related to the armed conflict in Sierra Leone from the beginning of the Conflict in 1991 to the signing of the Lomé Peace Agreement; to address impunity, to respond to the needs of the victims, to promote healing and reconciliation and to prevent a repetition of the violations and abuses suffered.” As the sentence seems long.
Remove the extra “Ahmed Tijan Kabbah, President of sierra Leone on 5th October 2004” appearing at the end of the article summery. It appears in the sentence previous.
I suggest having “History of Conflict” appear before the section “Commussioners.” In the “History of Conflict” you may want to further expand upon the events leading up to the creation of the commission, the conflict as well as the political situation which led to the formation of the commission.
In “Findings” it may be easier to use the wiki format for citation instead of providing a direct link to the source. This can appear at the end of each sentence requiring a reference, much like a footnote.
Expand upon “Recommendations.” I think you forgot to transfer it from your word document.
It may be valuable to the reader to add links to other Wikipedia articles throughout the piece.

Great job!
comments on full draft
[edit]Did a quick edit; I'd also recommend following the peer review suggestions. The article has good material but reads as still in-progress.
The next stage in this assignment is to finish up the draft and move it this week to the Wikipedia mainspace. Tips on doing this appear in the “Moving Out of Your Sandbox” handout, at https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Classroom_handout_-_moving_out_of_your_sandbox.pdf
You may also wish to consult, before the final deadline at the end of next week, the handout on “Polishing Your Article” at https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Polishing_your_articles.pdfDwebsterbu (talk) 23:27, 23 March 2016 (UTC)
- It's a pity, though, that no-one at the time noticed the 2006 article Truth and Reconciliation Commission (Sierra Leone). Anyone in the mood to merge them? Klbrain (talk) 13:06, 16 January 2020 (UTC)
- Redirect added (nothing unique to merge). Klbrain (talk) 10:02, 10 April 2020 (UTC)
Page move
[edit]Klbrain, fyi, I have requested an uncontroversial page move to the redirect name, having found that all TRC articles are named in this standard form, bar Canada which was specifically named that way (and has a redirect from the standard form). - Thanks for the ping; no concerns from me. Klbrain (talk) 16:46, 14 October 2021 (UTC)
