Actually two-stranded Matthew Walker Knot

[edit]

It is just two stranded Matthew Walker trans loaded. Shouldn't they be merged? (it's typical to Ashley to show the same knot under different circumstances with different names because his book is based on the uses that knots and other assembling devices have. But wikipedia isn't) Nodurosul (talk) 06:11, 29 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Very good point about the pictured knot being a two-strand MWK. Since several knots are known under the name "True Lover's Knot", including this form of the MWK, my thought is that this article should probably remain separate (and be expanded to with better coverage of those other forms). But I definitely agree that the two stranded variant pictured here be shown and discussed in the MWK article as well. A similar issue arises with one form of the Miller's knot known as the Ground-line hitch. There are some guidelines on the WP:KNOTS page which try to address the often tricky questions surrounding single vs. multiple articles covering knots related by form, function, naming, etc. --Dfred (talk) 16:16, 14 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]
