West Ham game - not notable

[edit]

I removed a large, out-of-proportion chunk about a game against West Ham, that included bias words like "stunning" and a running commentary of things completely unrelated to Troy Deeney, and a giant quote about him alleging disrespect. If that quote got him charged with "bringing the game into disrepute", that's notable, but it didn't. The whole 2,500 byte chunk could be summed up as "a striker scored a goal in a football match and then spoke to the press afterwards" — Preceding unsigned comment added by 78.151.217.200 (talk) 14:43, 27 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]

I added that information and looking back I suppose it isn't really needed. Cheers. Mórtas is Dóchas (talk) 23:57, 28 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]

The whole article does not have a wiki link for Birmingham City which, in most articles, do. The first instance I have found that is in the first paragraph of the 2012–15 section and that should be the one which has the wikilink. 86.147.131.235 (talk) 15:46, 6 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Not done: please establish a consensus for this alteration before using the {{edit semi-protected}} template. There is a link to Birmingham both in the infobox and the "Early life" section. Per WP:OLINK we don't need another. Izno (talk) 16:20, 6 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Izno I have just noticed a link to Birmingham City now so I can see how this has not been changed. I am wondering could that link be moved to the paragraph I said earlier and de-link the current one. 86.147.131.235 (talk) 21:27, 6 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]
I don't see a reason to. We try to provide our links as early in the article as possible, normally, and I don't believe it fits any better in the section you wish vice the current. --Izno (talk) 01:38, 7 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]

I have found two possible unreliable sources to this article. One of them I have found a better replacement to when Watford won 2–1 against Crystal Palace: [1], at ref 40.

As to the other one, [unreliable source?] would need to be tagged. That would be ref [8]. 86.184.39.169 (talk) 09:44, 7 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Partly done: Per WP:DAILYMAIL both references are unreliable. I made the replacement for the first part of the request. The second part, the ref looked like it was covered by the other reference in the same section, so I removed that one entirely. Izno (talk) 04:11, 9 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]

On the 18/01/2024 Troy Deeney was sacked as Forest Green Rovers Manager after only six games in charge. No replacement manager has been found as of yet.[1] Wikiman12351 (talk) 21:01, 18 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Partly done - content related to this sacking has been added but WP:THESUN proves it is generally unreliable so a BBC Sport alternative has been provided instead. Iggy (Swan) (Contribs) 21:47, 18 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
