The Junction/The Lamb
[edit]The Village Pump Festival actually started at a Trowbridge pub called 'The Junction' (now The Lamb).
Should this be added?

Line-ups
[edit]I see no reason to maintain a list of (mostly) non-notable (at least not yet) redlinked artists who appeared, particularly due to WP:NOTDIRECTORY and WP:INDISCRIMINATE. Sorry to those hard-working performers, but I don't think this is what an encyclopedia is meant for. Also, we only have the last few years listed, which breaches neutrality and recentism. Ideally, we should list notable appearances from 1980 onwards (and arguably, 1974 onwards) if these are available. I've started with 2002 as an example, and welcome comments. I also intend to get a better picture of the "Village Pump" room at the rear of The Lamb in the next few days, but the panorama should suffice for the time being. - Yeah, the picture isn't great. I remeber looking at the page a while ago and wondering why it listed 2004-2009 but not anything earlier. The 2003 headliners were The Paperboys and The Proclaimers if you are wondering, but of cause seeing that should not belong here. Maybe a seperate article for the line-ups should be made.--77.99.231.37 (talk) 21:01, 14 September 2010 (UTC)
- Hopefully today's picture is better, but I don't see much need yet for a separate article for annual line-ups, given that we don't even do this for the Isle of Wight festivals. Rodhullandemu 23:29, 2 October 2010 (UTC)
Somerset
[edit]Yes, Somerset, except a majority of the festival is in Wiltshire. Somerset starts further than where the Moonshine stage is if you were coming out of Trowbridge. --77.99.231.37 (talk) 21:03, 14 September 2010 (UTC)
- Mostly because we don't have a separate Wikiproject for Wiltshire. I've asked, but there doesn't seem to be much interest. Rodhullandemu 21:06, 14 September 2010 (UTC)
- Since you mentioned this, The Wiltshire Project has been started, and I think this article belongs in both, perhaps with different importance levels. Rodhullandemu 23:32, 2 October 2010 (UTC)
2012 festival dispute
[edit]At present thare are 2 groups hoping to run a festival in 2012. One comprises many of the organisers of the 2011 festival, the other being the organisers of the folk club. It is expected to be resolved very soon, and a true undisputed statement about the 2012 festival could be added then. The second part of the entry is about the Village Pump Folk Club, but ot the festival. is this relevant? The club started the festival, but isn't the same group any more, and this is at the heart of the dispute about 2012. Arguably the material about the Folk Club doesn't belong on a page about the Festival (does it belong in the encyclopedia at all?); at least it should be re-written.
