Myth?

[edit]

May need to see reference for this. Never heard of it before.Student7 22:16, 23 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Not a myth. "Tropic" is an unincorporated community on the extreme southern end of Merritt Island just north of Mather's Bridge. Most maps do not show it, but it does show up on topographical maps. Erzahler 21:44, 20 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Great! What map? Can you point to one with legitimate credentials online? Student7 22:10, 20 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Well, other than the fact that I live about 3 miles from there, it can be found in the DeLorme Atlas and Gazetteer for Florida, on the page showing Melbourne and vicinity. Sorry, I don't have a web reference to cite for you right now. If I can find an online reference, I'll cite it for you. Erzahler 02:51, 21 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Okay, I found a reference. Go to [1]. You'll need to zoom in quite a bit on the south end of Merritt Island, then in the right menu box you'll need to select "Topographic Maps," then "USGS Raster Graphics." Hope this helps you. Erzahler 03:20, 21 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I believe you. It would be nice to put this web reference in the main article. I used your pointer but had another page of choices before getting to the ones you mentioned. You might try using the pointer yourself to see what I mean. I have to admit, if it requires directions, we can't use it as a link. The reader needs to be able to verify it directly. Maybe the gazeteer will have to do. Student7 11:39, 21 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Found it. Stripped off the http. I tried focusing where the dragons used to be and saw a total blank on my map. Oh well. Student7 11:49, 21 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]
