Tupinambás

[edit]

Trying to cobble together this page from information from the German and Portuguese versions, I came across the question of which native tribe populated the area before European settlers arrived. The German version states that it was the Tupinambá people; However, according to that page, these lived in the area of São Luis, Maranhão, a long way north of Paraty. But the Portuguese page, pt:Tupinambás, says that they also lived in the Sao Paulo area, which would fit with the claim in the German article. I can't find any sources online, so I'll leave the link to Tupi people for now; that should be correct anyway, since the Tupinambá are a Tupi tribe. -- Duesentrieb (?!) 12:05, 17 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]
