From WP:RfD:
- Trichocereus peruvianus → San Pedro - is redirecting to a disambiguation page, probably for the wrong plant in the genus, while the disambiguation page has only 1 plant. Also the genus name has disappeared under APG II taxonomy. TeunSpaans 28 June 2005 18:44 (UTC)
- What a saga! It turns out that this is (or was, actually) the species name of a different cactus, the Peruvian Torch cactus. However, even though it's an old name, I recomment keeping this (and the old name for the San Pedro cactus, at Trichocereus pachanoi) since they are quite common: a web search gives about 18,900 matches for 'Trichocereus pachanoi', and about 17,700 for 'Trichocereus peruvianus'. - Hi. The redirect seems to have been corrected, so I removed the brackets around "San Pedro" in the first note. (I'm working on links to the San Pedro disambiguation page.) Please let me know if I've violated any protocol -- I'm fairly new at this. Auntof6 03:42, 17 October 2007 (UTC)
