Speech pattern/accent
[edit]Im find that he has the most amusing accent/speech pattern, posh, but something not quitre right about it. I would be pleased if anyone can add it correctly to the page, as it is quite a large part of his personality. Jackpot Den 20:30, 29 April 2006 (UTC)
Photo
[edit]Either Trev really looks like that, or his photo got jammed in the doors of a lift. PiCo 07:29, 7 May 2007 (UTC)
OBE
[edit]Is it worth noting (trivia?) that he read the news that announced his own OBE? Further, does anyone know exactly when that was, and if it's available anywhere? Youtube comes up blank. 82.9.24.155 19:24, 4 June 2007 (UTC)
- Doesn't the award of a knighthood "cancel out" the receipt of an OBE? It's still recorded in your bio that you received the more minor honour first, and were later dubbed; but you aren't then styled Sir John Smith, OBE.

Opening & closing theme
[edit]Could the anonymous editor who's insisting on adding the following text:
"over the titles of the last bulletin McDonald presented, the ITV1 from February 2 - 2004 - January 15, 2006, the 1988 - 1992 and 1992 - 1999 News at Ten theme was played instead of the ITV News theme, as a tribute to McDonald.",
please provide a reference for it. Myself and many other editors are reverting this as vandalism, as it does not appear to make sense. Thanks. -- MightyWarrior (talk) 09:35, 14 July 2008 (UTC)
Vandalism
[edit]Catching offensive and untrue vandalism of a living person the next day is simply not good enough. Our reputation is at stake, SqueakBox 18:19, 4 March 2006 (UTC)
Edited Out Vandalism

First black newscaster in the UK
[edit]McDonald was not the first black newscaster in the UK - that honour belongs to Clyde Alleyne, who worked on Tyne-Tees TV from 1967. McDonald was the first black newscaster on ITN, and the footnote supports only this claim. Can someone please change the article to reflect this? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 131.111.184.12 (talk) 14:21, 20 May 2013 (UTC)
- Have you got a reliable source? The only one I can find is in a Trinidad and Tobago newspaper, where the author has the same surname and doesn't cite any sources. - X201 (talk) 08:55, 21 May 2013 (UTC)
- For Clyde Alleyne? I got the information from a letter held in a correspondence archive held at McMaster University - the Austin Clarke archive, letter from Andrew Salkey dated 8th March 1967 — Preceding unsigned comment added by 78.105.200.59 (talk) 19:48, 22 May 2013 (UTC)

Chancellor?
[edit]On this page, it says "Chancellor of London South Bank University 1999–present" but on https://wiki.riteme.site/wiki/London_South_Bank_University, says that Sir Simon Hughes is Chancellor. Is one of these pages out of date?Musanim (talk) 19:23, 12 July 2020 (UTC)
