Founded by Bata?
Could someone please check the claim in the Bata Shoes article, that the university was founded by Bata? -- Sandius 20:20, 24 August 2005 (UTC)
The library at Trent is named after Thomas J. Bata of the Bata shoe company due to his contributions to the university. However the university itself was not founded by Mr. Bata. History of Trent University Building Names -- Draven5

this article reads like it was written by the PR departement of trent.
"Trent has long been characterized by political debate: the staff, students and faculty actively engage in ultra-political conversations and the education in every discipline is rooted within a new-age educational philosophy. At Trent, professors are as interested in writing award-winning research articles as they are in listening and hearing comments from students, and in the overall discussions which challenge the status quo."
Is that really nessecary?
Trent at Durham
Trent has a fulltime program at UOIT/Durham college. I go there, and I think it should have a mention on this page. Anyway, I'm going to get some numbers on it and stick it in a secition, while trent in oshawa is nominally part of JBC, it has an independent existence. And I agree it looks like it was written by the PR department. Trent is a great university, but we should look like an encyclopedia not an advertisement--Notenderwiggin 05:29, 21 January 2006 (UTC)
External link removed
Why was the link to: http://trentuclasses.wikispaces.com/ removed? (I know it used to be to http://seanja.wikispaces.com/, but it is the same site under a different name)
I am just curious, as I cannot find where it was removed.

- I removed it per WP:EL. Wikipedia is not a link farm. See also External link spamming. Ardenn 03:13, 12 April 2006 (UTC)
- I have no idea why people keep on removing the lj link, its a good resource for people who are interested in Trent - especially new students who want to know what the university like 72.60.38.171 21:17, 27 May 2006 (UTC)
There is no varsity chess team at Trent. Sarah Urquhart wrote that as a joke. What a douche.
Correct Spelling
Is Catharine or Catherine Parr correct? Does anyone know for sure? Both versions exist on the article. Flibirigit 01:14, 14 November 2006 (UTC)
It is "Catharine Parr," named after --> http://wiki.riteme.site/wiki/Catharine_Parr_Traill
Mickey Rourke went to Trent?
Citation needed. Otherwise I suggest deletion of this "fact". Mardiste (talk) 02:38, 6 January 2010 (UTC)
Bata Library heading
I noticed while reading through this article that there is an external link for the Trent library, but no specific heading for Thomas J. Bata library. Considering Bata is an essential part of the Trent campus and history, it should receive at least some specific mention within this article, if not its own article altogether.--Frombritain (talk) 06:12, 21 September 2011 (UTC)
Otanabee facilities, Wenjack theatre
The Otanabee College section mentions that the college contains both a 125 person lecture theatre and the Wenjack theatre of similar description, I am reasonably certain that they are one and the same but am as of yet not familiar enough with the college to be certain. Additionally, a link to further information on Charles Wenjack for whom the theatre is named would be desirable, unfortanetaly he is only mentioned on Wikipedia in an article for the book on residential schools "Kill the Indian and not the Man/" I could probably dig up enough info from the theatre placard for at least a stub article, but if any experts on his stories would like to start one that would be preferred. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 38.117.69.169 (talk) 18:49, 15 September 2009 (UTC) - that possibly refers to the adjacent SC137 which is technically a different building because Symons campus east is a masterwork of ad-hoc, architecture. Like when they add sun room to the back of a house.. The physics building borrows exterior walls from the Environmental Studies Building and OC and somehow all have an integrated basement. Or they want to shove 125 people into OC 10Whatever between the cafe and the cone shaped Native Studies room. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 209.42.123.37 (talk) 18:00, 1 May 2014 (UTC)
