Youlstone

[edit]

Re: "At Youlstone an Iron Age bronze bowl was discovered in 1925.[1][2]"

Higher and Lower Youlton Farms

Higher Youlton is shown on OS Get-a-map as Higher Youlston, but Lower Youlton as Youlstone. The historic form is "Youlton" from which the Cornish surname Youlton is derived. Both these farms are in the parish of Warbstow, but Hencken citing Antig. J. says Treneglos (perhaps the author of the article did not know the parish boundary).

Yep, this is a bit that was in the article for awhile. I think it was meant to be an interesting fact about something that was in the area - if not directly in Trenglos.--CaroleHenson (talk) 06:31, 24 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Hencken enters this under Treneglos in a list arranged by the old parishes as "Youlton". It is more likely to belong to Warbstow now there is this picture with lat & long for those farms.--Felix Folio Secundus (talk) 12:30, 24 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Ah, very clever!--CaroleHenson (talk)
