Associated acts

[edit]

In regards to changing the bands in common section, it is incorrect now, as per many other Wiki articles with the same section. The band Tremonti was founded by the same man who founded Alter Bridge and Creed. He has always been a full-time member of all three bands. Those two bands should be shown in common with Tremonti. I have been told by the Wiki police that this is not the case. Once only needs to go as far as the Aerosmith page to see I'm correct. Under associated acts, we see The Joe Perry Project · Whitford/St. Holmes · and the Jimmy Crespo Project... Each of these bands shares exactly ONE band member with Aerosmith. Just as Tremonti does with Alter Bridge and Creed. Also, on the Creed page, you'll notice Art of Anarchy and Projected, again, both of which share ONE band member in common. Also, on the Alter Bridge page, you can see Mayfield Four and Slash. Once again, those bands share ONE common band member with Alter Bridge.

Please stop removing those bands from the Tremonti page. — Preceding unsigned comment added by UtahCountryBoy (talkcontribs) 16:28, 11 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Template:Infobox_musical artist#associated acts can tell your wiki police they're wrong and "groups with only one member in common" should be avoided in associations. Just because other articles are written incorrectly is no reason to not apply the correct guidelines to this article. Walter Görlitz (talk) 07:07, 13 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]

If we want to split hairs on the issue, Brian Marshall from Creed and Alter Bridge was the original Bass player for Tremonti. So that would actually make two common members. But the pages with single band members in common being linked is seemingly innumerable. Rainbow/Deep Purple/Blackmore's Knight... Black label Society/Ozzy Osbourne... Marilyn Manson/Rob Zombie... Damn Yankees/Night Ranger/Styx... — Preceding unsigned comment added by UtahCountryBoy (talk • contribs) 8:08, 13 January 2017 (UTC)

We don't want to split hairs, you do.
Brian Marshall is from both Creed and Alter Bridge, but he was a touring musician, not a band member.
Again, I'm not here to police every article. This one is on my watchlist, and so if it falls out of compliance, I fix it. If you find violations of the documented use of the template, feel free to be WP:BOLD an fix it. Walter Görlitz (talk) 01:10, 15 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]
