(Remediation)
[edit]The link for remediation goes to a page that describes another use of that word, so I'm going to de-link it. Is there no article for medical treatment?72.83.243.12 06:05, 18 January 2007 (UTC)
"Social treatment"
[edit]With the entry
- Social treatment, either positive (e.g., kindness) or negative (e.g., "silent treatment")
a colleague has practically re-invented the apparent trademark "Social Treatment" in an attempt to explain away the metaphor "the silent treatment" (closer to shunning or social rejection), which is really a sarcastic reference to various forms of medical treatment, and suggests "since seeking cooperation is out of the question (for preserving our dignity or because of their push-back), this asshole may be 'cured' of their bad attitude, or 'drop dead' (go away), if we make it clear they are unwelcome."
Our users who might leave the 'pedia wondering how understanding "social treatment" might help clarify "silent treatment" for them deserve to know it is an idiom, better explained in the article than on the Dab page.

General Treatment
[edit]I'm shocked there is no page for the general concept of "treatment." we have specific pages like "sewage treatment," but no discussion of treatment as a formal philosophical or mathematical concept. I'm not sure it would be easy to gather sources for such a page, but I feel it deserves one if any can be found. SpiralSource (talk) 19:27, 13 October 2021 (UTC)
