[edit]Good article, thank you. Soo 15:07, 28 April 2007 (UTC)
Ambiguity
[edit]Reading this article, I am unable to figure out whether this condition causes instant or rapid death or if it is a slowly worsening condition. You describe various treatments and discuss how it can be detected, implying that it is a medium- or long- term condition, but under "Prognosis" it says that a traumatic rupture in the thoracic aorta results in a 90-95% death rate. Death generally requires little effort to detect and is not treatable. This article implies that this condition is painful and such pain generally is not hard to detect. I recommend polishing this article for the sake of clarity to readers.Widgetdog (talk) 23:09, 13 November 2015 (UTC)
- Thanks for pointing this out. The aorta is not always torn all the way through, and smaller tears can be harder to detect. I have added some info. delldot ∇. 21:04, 17 November 2015 (UTC)
