wiktionary

[edit]

Wouldn't this artical be better placed in the Wiktionary Shoessss 19:51, 4 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Is this a person/band/company/webcontent?? NickelShoe (Talk) 20:56, 4 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Possibly. I saw this empty article linked from the article on the J-2X engine and decided to create a stub. There's a lot more that could be talked about, but I don't really have the time to do that at the moment. Sections on techniques and various transfer orbits, engines required for it, etc., could be created, to expand it well beyond the dictionary definition. Malderi 21:04, 4 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]
You know you can remove the prod tag, right? NickelShoe (Talk) 22:47, 4 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Ah, I'm new to creating articles. As the author, can I remove the tag?Malderi 06:08, 5 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]
For WP:PROD, yes. Not for WP:CSD or WP:AFD. Yes, I know it's confusing for new users. You just have to read the tag. This one says if you disagree to remove the tag. NickelShoe (Talk) 15:40, 5 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Redirect

[edit]

Shouldn't this be redirected to Trans Lunar Injection? - 66.222.18.102 18:47, 6 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Merge proposal

[edit]

This article, and Trans Lunar Injection, should probably be merged. (sdsds - talk) 05:47, 14 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, it should, the proper usage is Trans Lunar as two distinct words. The Trans Lunar Injection article is more fleshed out and is sourced.--Abebenjoe 17:49, 15 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Here's an example (from NASA) that uses Translunar Injection. There are plenty of others. I imagine because of the acronym TLI there are plenty that use Trans Lunar Injection. Does anyone know a way to determine which should be preferred? (sdsds - talk) 23:08, 15 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Yes. Merge them; to Translunar Injection. A Google search says Translunar Injection has greater usage by 8250 to 5560. On nasa.gov it is 3500 to 277. Also, FWIW, in my experience in the aerospace industry it is always Translunar Injection. Wayne Goode 19:50, 4 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I don't think "Trans" is a word by itself. Also, I tried 3 different search engines, and they all favor "Translunar Injection". The results: Live: Translunar Injection - 9,960 Trans Lunar Injection - 5,870 Yahoo: Translunar Injection - 17,400 Trans Lunar Injection - 16,300 Google: Translunar Injection - 8,220 Trans Lunar Injection - 7,670 Nat682 (talk) 02:41, 16 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

-and by the way, if Trans Lunar Injection should be Translunar Injection, should Trans Earth Injection be Transearth Injection? just curious. Nat682 (talk) 02:41, 16 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

How about "Transterran injection?" But just try to find a reliable source for that! (sdsds - talk) 04:26, 16 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
