[edit]Wikipedia is not a newspaper, so detailed accounts of each and every incident do not belong here. Also, cutting and pasting from news websites is a violation of copyright, which is bad for Wikipedia. Ground Zero | t 20:33, 19 April 2007 (UTC)
Update, Reformat, Add Future Section
[edit]I reformatted the article - adding sections - so that it flows a little better. I also removed the 2007 List of crimes as this is not a newspaper as someone mentioned before. I did however add Crime Statistics from a TTC report to reflect the nature and volume of the work without actually listing specific crimes and occurrences. I also added a section about the recent developments by Toronto Police and their desire to take control of this service and supported it with a reference from the star. Special Constables program to end Jan. 31/Feb. 1 2011 at midnight
[edit]This will require an overhaul of the article. The question is will this article morph to fit the new (and so far publicly at least un-named) entity that the constables will become, or should this article remain and be reverted to the past tense, as a historic representation of the program as it was. Thoughts? Comments? eja2k 20:28, 31 January 2011 (UTC)
Changes to reflect the new status as 'Transit Enforcement Officers'
[edit]Now that the Special Constables have been disbanded for over 3 months, this article should be updated/renamed to fit the new designation, or a new article could be created. While the TTC has been slow to update the website, new transit safety advertisements make official reference to these people as "Transit Enforcement Officers". I'm not sure what the best way to procede should be:
- A) A new article for the "new" designation.
- B) A major revision to this article shifting all the Special Constable stuff to a revised history Section, and a greater emphasis on the current role as Fare Enforcement/Bylaw Enforcement Officers.
Let me know your thoughts on how this article should proceed!eja2k 17:09, 15 May 2011 (UTC)
