Call it restructing debt if you like but everyone there on the inside knows it was severly poor management on the "Mahogony Row" Level , John Affeltranger (The CEO) is the Frank Lorenzo of the Charter business as he had taken a healthy airline and in a little more than a year ran it into banruptcy. He hired several "Vice presidents" whom many of which he was personaly involved with to be vice presidents of departments who only had Directors below them (all chiefs no indians you could say) hired his friends as consultantants traveled them first clas on the company dime as well as his "Fiancee" she was hired as a consultant for crew scheduling she spent many a weeks with just 1 day of "work" before she would fly back to their home down in Miami beach first class of course. The so called vice presidents seemed never accountable for their failures and we fired on once but it was even worse because they had given the guy a contract of employment to which he still received his full salary for the next 6 months, Hell I haven't received my last 2 weeks pay nor was I ever flown anywhere first class on company business. I can't even begin with how little the CEO showed for work usually never he seemed to always be doing it from Miami Beach, not to mention we layed off ALL of the Transmeridian Mechanics then hired a company named Gearbuck to do the work (they were inept of course) which it was rumored only rumored that Ceo John affeltranger had a controlling stake in also rumor is we payed them more to do business with us than it cost to have our own mechanics ooops frank oh i meant Johnny boy,Really John have you ever ran anything that went right??? AND of course he isn't completly to blame there is one more company secretly wrapped in to this banruptcy scandal yes scandal because i am sure if the FTC looks deep enough they would find funneled money to Pegasus the aircraft leasing company , they spent lots of money making sure that there was no paper trail that showed they owned Transmeridian but ALL of the airlines aircraft were Pegasus aircraft (weren't allowed to get one otherwise) and Rich Wiley of Pegasus approved every dime spent by maintenance (thats per MX COntrol) They even came down and told us to stop telling people we are owned by Pegasus, you think Coca cola would care if people said they were owned by Pepsi? Nope because there would be no truth to it all. Now where do I end this all hummm how about in the sickening manner in which all the employees were lied to yep we were all told we have investors that want to pump money into the airline (hard to belive a business man successful enough to have disposable cash would pump it into TMA blindly without researching Lorenzo Affeltranger don't cha think?) well as one news article reported the company was unable to restructure its debt and closed operations and filed for banruptcy, that would mean that there was not an investor yeah we all heard the guys name but couldn't find any proof,on Friday morning people came to work to find thew doors locked, and a sign on it for an 830 am meeting to which only out of work workers showed to and a HRD solutions guy (no doubt we payed them big bucks to close the doors) No faces of those who crashed and burned the airline in the words of fictional character ja ja binks "how Wude" the HRD guy stated we don't have unemployment letters for you and as of today you nolonger have medical insurance (that'll do a lot of good for the one guys wife who was going through Cancer treatment, even new coverage releases the new insurer from having to cover her because it would be considered a pre existing condition, Moving along we finally got our letters 2 weeks later telling us we were unemployed pretty crappy there johnny a do the world a favor next time you think about managing something....-Don't

Not unusual

As another former employee, I got out just after Pegasus took control of T9 back in 2001. There have always been management problems at TransMeridian and it seems that was the cause of thier ultimate doom. To bad...lots of talented "indians" on the ground there at Thornton Way.
