Does Tracy exist?

[edit]

Tracy, NJ is an enigma, as the only place where I can find information about "Tracy, NJ" is this Wikipedia page. I see the source from the State of NJ, but I am unable to find any other source that names Tracy as a community. The source from the State of New Jersey seems to just be a basic reference for local nicknames for cities -- I'm curious where that even came from as nobody I asked from New Jersey (including Monroe Township) knew what this was.

I think it is likely that "Tracy" simply refers to the former train station that was once there (sparsely documented), rather than as an established name of the local community.

These are the only two mentions of "Tracy" I could find:

Would love further information if anyone has any. LaborHorizontal (talk) 01:55, 19 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

So all that I can guess is that Tracy is the name of the former station. I see no indication that it has ever been a name of a community or neighborhood. Regardless, the fact that I had to do a little independent research to find this out means it probably doesn't belong on Wikipedia anyway. The currently cited map from 1911 is supposed to prove it is a neighborhood in the southeast edge of Monroe, but I could neither find any indication of it being a community outside the train station, nor would it be any indication of Tracy being a real community today even if it did. I don't know any current sources that reference this alleged community despite an extended search. For this reason, I'm putting it up for WP:PROD -- I do not expect this to be a controversial deletion considering there is no apparent evidence of Tracy being a community.
