Toy
Like today, a toy is not only for children. Many adults are correcting figures or play with it, and we call them adult kids. We cannot guarantee limited or define the toys are not only for children to play and enjoy. Playing with toys is important, growing up and learning about the world around them. Children use toys to discover their identity, learn cause and effect, explore relationships with other people, and practice skills they will need as adults. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 108.185.218.129 (talk) 07:32, 21 February 2017 (UTC)
Gender Section Addition
Hello coeditors of the toy page,
I have just added a few sentences under the gender section of this article. In the middle of it, it claimed that some organizations were beginning to move away from gender terms in toys, and I added to that by giving examples using Disney and Target. They came from the New York Times and the Disney Website itself. I think they aided the section in that they added specific examples to clarify the claim. I am excited to further expand that section more in the future! Lovinglearner (talk) 13:53, 21 September 2017 (UTC)
- Hello Lovinglearner. Good add to existing text. Could you please address the relative time reference in your addition (See Wikipedia:Manual of Style/Words to watch#Relative time references) as well as delete the statement that hinges on original research? I'm looking at this edit. Thank you. Jagrif02 (talk) 16:40, 28 September 2017 (UTC)
- Of course! Jagrif02 It should be fixed now. Thank you for the help! Lovinglearner (talk) 16:47, 28 September 2017 (UTC)

Gender Section Addition Plans
Hello fellow editors,
I wanted to post a brief outline of the plans I have to edit the gender section of this page. Here are the edits I am hoping to make: In the introduction, I would like to add historical context to the issue. In the second paragraph, I would like to add another study similar to that previously cited. In the third paragraph, I would like to add additional information on parents so as to eliminate any perceivable bias existing in the paragraph. After the third paragraph, I would like to add examples of stores which are debating this issue, such as I added before (Target, Disney). In the end, I would like to add a concluding paragraph which discusses the repercussions of adding gender to toys
I have found that though I would like to, I am unable to add a section on the influence of color in gender of play, but I would highly encourage other editors to contribute on this topic.
If you would like to see further explanation or information on my plans, feel free to look at my user page, where I have posted my entire plan including citations.Lovinglearner User Page
Thanks so much and happy editing!
