I saw Toxic Holocaust perform in Delaware several times before Joel ever got signed to Witches Brew (the German label who issued his releases before he was signed to Relapse Records). I have seen pictures from some of these performances posted online by people in the Maryland/Philly/Delaware area. I believe he was living in Maryland at the time (though possibly he was living in Delaware) of these performances. Oprichniki is a Delaware band and Dave Grind is one of its members. Joel and Dave worked on several projects as "Grind Brothers".
