Rename?

[edit]

I'd vote to move this from Corporation of the Town of Walkerville to Town of Walkerville because the legal name is of little value to Wikipedia unless it's helping to disambiguate from something else. "Town of" is enough to disambiguate this from the suburb Walkerville. — Donama 08:03, 18 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I just went ahead and did it, because the page had just 2 edits previously. If you want to undo this, I haven't changed any redirects yet because there were no doubles, except for the template {{Local Government Areas of South Australia}}. — Donama 08:07, 18 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]
All metropolitan municipalities (sic?) are technically "Corporation of the...". For example, the City of Burnside is actually the Corporation of the City of Burnside. I wouldn't include this terminology, its irrelevant to the article. michael talk 05:07, 29 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]
It's the only one named as such on the lga.sa.gov.au website though. As such, I assume it's only one that includes "Corporation of" in its official name. — Donama 05:12, 29 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Interesting. Leave it as is then. michael talk 05:32, 29 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for Image:Walkerville.gif

[edit]

Image:Walkerville.gif is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Merge of List of Mayors into Main Page

[edit]

I suggest that List of mayors of the Town of Walkerville be merged into this page as it contains more history about the council area than the actual page itself. The information is related and would add depth to this article. It would also add to the reliability of this article due to its high number of sources. It would merge traffic between the two pages. Some impressively written histories there; there certainly is a lot of duplications. So, consolidated!   checkY Merger complete. Klbrain (talk) 11:31, 31 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
