Photos

[edit]

Anyone willing to provide photos of the shelters? They are probably the most unusual part of the park.

I can take digital photos of the shelters easily enough. . .just a question of whether I can figure out how to upload them and post them. TMS63112 17:56, 20 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]
What you do is click Upload file item on the toolbox section off to the left of the Wikipedia page. You can select a .jpg file for upload.
In the description, you need to provide a copyright notice; I've used the 'GFDL-self' (but put it in double curley braces) as a copyright that allows others to copy the image. This is a messy part of Wikipedia, and I don't claim to know much about it. But if you don't put it in, it'll get deleted. You might want to take a look at other photos to see how they handle the copyright.
OK-Thanks. This is something I've been meaning to learn how to do anyway. It's supposed to be clear and warmer later in the week, so I'll try to sneak over to the park and shoot a few photos. Then I'll see if I can upload them! TMS63112 18:10, 20 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]
Done. Easier than I thought! TMS63112 19:30, 23 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Some new HABS/HAER photos added

[edit]

If anyone would like to make use of them, I've added some public-domain images of Tower Grove Park from the HABS/HAER collection (via Library of Congress). They can be found here: [1] Hope they are of use, Cadastral (Talk) 20:21, 12 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

File:Chinese Pavilion (Pagoda) in Tower Grove Park.jpg Nominated for speedy Deletion

[edit]
An image used in this article, File:Chinese Pavilion (Pagoda) in Tower Grove Park.jpg, has been nominated for speedy deletion at Wikimedia Commons for the following reason: Other speedy deletions
What should I do?

Don't panic; deletions can take a little longer at Commons than they do on Wikipedia. This gives you an opportunity to contest the deletion (although please review Commons guidelines before doing so). The best way to contest this form of deletion is by posting on the image talk page.

  • If the image is non-free then you may need to upload it to Wikipedia (Commons does not allow fair use)
  • If the image isn't freely licensed and there is no fair use rationale then it cannot be uploaded or used.
  • If the image has already been deleted you may want to try Commons Undeletion Request

Number of Pavilions in Tower Grove Park

[edit]

The article states that there are 32 pavilions in the park. I’m only counting 13. 2600:1700:7AA1:2280:5043:E2C:E7B3:EE44 (talk) 15:37, 25 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]

History

[edit]

I added a History section to the article, mainly pulled from an older version of the Tower Grove East article. It's a little confusing, because the history talks more about development around the park in general, but it felt more appropriate here than in the Tower Grove East neighborhood article. It's also very poorly sourced. Let me know if anyone has any thoughts, or if you think that info doesn't fit into this article. Mik Kanrokitoff (talk) 23:49, 13 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
