Contradiction

[edit]

Many people go to North Korea as it is not a frequently visited place. Isn't this self-contradictory? Goplat 14:38, 19 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Yup - I'll take the sentence out. Beerathon 12:18, 5 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Tourism

[edit]

On the official North Korea tourism homepage you can read something about ONE tour trough Korea. Could somebody who made this tour tell me what you exactly can see and what flights you make with Air Koryo? Dagadt

Canadians, Protestants and Israelis

[edit]

The line stating that canadians, protestants, and israelis are forbidden entry is not supported by the source that it claims to reference. Additionally a Canadian Friend of mine was there not too long ago. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 67.48.239.154 (talk) 06:24, 2 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Well, the Canadians pretend to be Americans, the Protestants pretend to be Jewish, and the Israelis pretend to be Arabs. It's very simple, really.--Jack Upland (talk) 10:36, 2 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Needs expansion

[edit]

Needs expansion on average travel itineraries and legal ramification of failure to follow the rules(Tourist have been disciplined harshly before for not following regular guidelines).Krishnanish (talk) 20:50, 7 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Billinghurst tagged this article for WP:NOTTRAVEL content to be moved to Wikivoyage over a month ago. Can you be more specific as to what material do you find objectionable? – Finnusertop (talkcontribs) 11:11, 29 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]

US citizens

[edit]

"In July 2017, the U.S. government announced that American citizens would no longer be permitted to visit North Korea as tourists." - How do the US control their citizens and prevent them from taking tours to North Korea? --2A02:2454:9861:8700:DD0A:6426:7C3E:356A (talk) 21:18, 3 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]

The same way the USA has restricted its citizens from travelling to Cuba. Theoretically a U.S. citizen could try to book a trip to North Korea via one of the handful of travel agencies that arrange such tours, but the citizen would risk prosecution by the U.S. government. It's also very likely that the travel agencies would automatically reject any application from a U.S. citizen. In the past the USA has also banned travel to various countries in the Middle East and the former Eastern Bloc without special leave of the State Department[1]. Western country

[edit]

What exactly is a Western country? This concept is really fuzzy and needs more explaining. --94.134.89.118 (talk) 02:01, 23 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Luo

[edit]

This wikipedia page mentions a north eastern region of North Korea called “Luo” that supposedly Chinese people can drive into, take picture, ect. There is no source, no wikipedia page and I can’t find anything about this on google, google maps or anything. Just making sure this is bs. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Heeteehee (talkcontribs) 23 March 2021 (UTC)

I've seen various news reports about Chinese tourists being allowed to take part in self-driven tours of N. Korea in recent years, but admittedly I can't find any reference to any region of N. Korea called "Luo". Unless perhaps the area is known by different names in the Chinese and Korean languages. @Jack Upland: any ideas? —Muzilon (talk) 03:18, 23 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]
No idea. I think this probably should be removed as it has no citation.--Jack Upland (talk) 04:30, 23 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]
OK, I've removed those sentences. If someone can prove "Luo" exists, feel free to re-add them. —Muzilon (talk) 05:10, 24 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Edit-warring over image of airport staff

[edit]

@EditQ: You appear to be engaged in an WP:EDITWAR over personality rights regarding the photo of the Pyongyang Airport officer. May I suggest you request that the source image be deleted from Commons rather than edit-warring here? Muzilon (talk) 03:58, 16 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
