[edit]Hey ppl, I put a list of pages in TouchFLO 3D, contact me before removing if you must. --MasterOfTheXP (talk) 02:03, 18 December 2008 (UTC)
- Good thinking. I was wondering how the article could be expanded. We just need to get references for everything, which shouldn't be too hard, given the number of reviews of the Touch Diamond, Touch Pro and Touch HD. Dark-Fire (talk) 15:10, 18 December 2008 (UTC)
Other devices + ThrottleLauncher
[edit]I've went to HTC's website and found that there are new HTC devices that have TouchFLO 3D.
Also, people may not like it but I've added a quick note about a clone called ThrottleLauncher. Just in case anyone wants the feature on a non-HTC device, or an old HTC device...
ALSO, I've added to external links:
- ThrottleLauncher home page
- TF3D tour on HTC's site —Preceding unsigned comment added by MasterOfTheXP (talk • contribs) 23:24, 26 December 2008 (UTC)
- If you look carefully at the specifications, the Touch Viva and Touch 3G use 'TouchFLO' rather than TouchFLO 3D. Admittedly, it does like it is a new version of TouchFLO, but it appears to lack the 3D animations of TouchFLO 3D (neither device seems to be powerful enough to support 3D animations). In conclusion, I don't think that those devices should be in that list. Dark-Fire (talk) 16:13, 27 December 2008 (UTC)
TouchFLO 3D 2
[edit]To be honest, I think it's impossible to truly understand this section unless you already know what it's talking about. What does everyone think? —Preceding unsigned comment added by CalumCook234 (talk • contribs) 18:39, 26 March 2009 (UTC)
- I agree that some parts - especially the people-centric communication bits - are poorly described. Obviously it needa a lot of work and references. The Touch Diamond2 is due out soon which, via reviews, should provide more than enough information to rewrite the section. I think that the TouchFLO 3D 2 section should only discuss the announcement and release of the new version of TouchFLO 3D, the thinking behind it, and the improvements to the Windows Mobile UI (at least some, if not all, of the menus in the standard UI have been replaced with TouchFLO 3D-style menus) - the new tabs should be integrated into the Today Screen plugin section. Sorry...
[edit]Sorry for the number of times in quick succession I have edited this article - it seems to be a bug in the way Wikipedia works in IE8 - almost every time I press Enter, it saves the page.CalumCook234 (talk) 12:41, 5 April 2009 (UTC)
Merge with Sense article?
[edit]- The following discussion is closed. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made in a new section. A summary of the conclusions reached follows.
- Discussion closed. No consensus to merge after 2.5 years. WTF? (talk) 21:55, 1 June 2013 (UTC)
HTC Sense for Windows Mobile is the new version of TouchFLO so I think it the articles should be merged. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 132.170.43.123 (talk) 02:25, 4 February 2010 (UTC)
- Yes, I think merging is a good idea. -- Rixs (talk) 13:30, 19 November 2010 (UTC)
- I would have to agree as well since the windows version is now referred internally and in advertising via HTC as HTC Sense it would be more practical to have them merged. 174.55.213.125 (talk) 21:18, 26 April 2011 (UTC)
- Comment. "HTC Sense for Windows Mobile is the new version of TouchFLO". How do you then explain "TouchFLO refers to the user interface before the existence of HTC Sense. TouchFLO and TouchFLO 3D have been retired in favor of HTC Sense." from the TouchFLO article? (I'm not saying you are wrong, only that your claim is inconsistent with that one). CapnZapp (talk) 13:13, 8 July 2011 (UTC)
- TouchFLO and TouchFLO 3D were Windows-Mobile-only phenomena, and the only Windows Mobile devices to have TouchFLO 3D marketed as HTC Sense were the HD2 and HD mini. WP7 and Android have only had HTC Sense and never TouchFLO or TouchFLO 3D. From a clarity perspective, it may help to treat the HD2 and HD mini as anomalous cases and maintain separate articles, or at least a seperate section in a merged article. Picture with Windows Logo?
[edit]That picture shows a Windows logo in the upper left corner. What's up with that?
If TouchFLO is some kind of Microsoft-only overlay that isn't explained clearly enough by the article. If it is not, and there are Window-less versions, then why doesn't the pic comment its from the Windows version of TouchFLO? CapnZapp (talk) 13:17, 8 July 2011 (UTC)
- TouchFLO and TouchFLO 3D were only ever officially made for Windows Mobile. This was clearer in older versions of the article (for example, this one). Subsequent edits reflect the unverifiable fact that HTC Sense for Android was (at least initially) intended as an Android port of TouchFLO (one of the processes involved is called TouchFLO I think). Later versions of TouchFLO 3D on Windows Mobile were marketed as HTC Sense also, further blurring the line. I am of the opinion that this article should more clearly state that TouchFLO and TouchFLO 3D were only on Windows Mobile, but retain the sentence about the Hero and HD2 onwards, to clarify the evolution.
