Touat is the name of a region, not a people (the people of this region are called "Touatis".) Gourara is a related but distinguishable region to its north. In-Salah is not only not the main population centre (that would be Adrar), it's properly part of the Tidikelt (not "Tadekelt" region south of Touat. Government is by APN and wali - what is this, 1850? And "the engineering of traditional oil wells"?! Wow does this need fixing. - Lameen Souag (talk) 11:06, 10 October 2010 (UTC)

The topic of groundwater is treated a bit dryly
[edit]In the Geography section, in the 2nd §, the description of the groundwater resources could use some refinements. 1/ The Continental intercalaire is the location of the aquifer, not the aquifer itself 2/ The North Western Sahara Aquifer System is mentionned in passing, as if well-known
I'll leave here some related Wikipedia articles in the hope that someone may connect the dots:
Nubian Sandstone Aquifer System
Great Man-Made River
Fossil water
