When did the post office close?

Someone plastered the entry with "citation needed" flags so I found a source (online !!!!) for the post office having been open in 1863 and added it. I suspect the same source could be used to replace some of the other citation needed flags, if anyone has time and inclination ....

BUT the source I found is too old to give the date when the post office closed. I remember there was a great fuss at the time but I wasn't taking notes and I don't know when it happened. Does anyone remember? Or better still have access to a date with a source? (and please?) Regards Charles01 (talk) 10:55, 26 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]
