Birthplace
[edit]I appreciate his parents lived in Tarcutta, but it's a tiny village with no hospital. I suggest it's far more likely he was actually born in Wagga Wagga. -- JackofOz (talk) 03:46, 1 June 2009 (UTC)

Photo issues
[edit]The photo is not him - Roche was left handed — Preceding unsigned comment added by 173.164.130.45 (talk) 07:54, 10 January 2013 (UTC)
- Looks like Tony. Is Tony. BTW he is holding the racquet in his left hand or haven't you learnt how to differ between right and left, and know what mirroring looks like? 92.18.11.231 (talk) 09:35, 10 January 2013 (UTC)
- The player in the picture is not Tony Roche, it is Roy Emerson, which is also clearly stated below.83.176.247.91 (talk) 22:38, 12 January 2013 (UTC)
- Thx for the notice. I uploaded the photo last year from a Dutch photo archive and as you can see it clearly mentions the player as being Tony Roche. But I do agree it's actually not Tony Roche but indeed Roy Emerson so the photo archive has it wrong (I noticed a few more errors) and I didn't catch the error before uploading. Will correct matters. --Wolbo (talk) 23:57, 12 January 2013 (UTC)

Photo Issues II
[edit]This photo is labelled as having been taken at Wimbledon "ca. 1983". Roche, b. May 1945, would have just turned 38 before the event (June and July). Now, I know, people age at different rates and photoaging is more salient in Australia, but it's highly doubtful that this is Roche (or anyone) at "ca." 38 years old (compare, e.g., this image of HRH Prince William at age 39).
Could someone investigate? Don Ecchi (talk) 07:48, 4 August 2021 (UTC)
