Birth date
[edit]Ehrlich says that TRJ was born on 7 June, and adds that he died when only 30. Where does the date 26 February come from? -- Hoary 13:52, 16 April 2006 (UTC)
- Hoary, I don't remember where I got this from. Probably from the same source I used for the other info I added at the occasion. If you have reliable sources for the birth date go ahead and change it. RodC 22:16, 16 April 2006 (UTC)
Thanks for the fast response; done already. -- Hoary 00:49, 17 April 2006 (UTC)
"Only in England" publication
[edit]This article lists:
- Only in England: Photographs by Tony Ray-Jones. Bradford: National Media Museum, 2013. ISBN 978-1-900747-67-7. Exhibition catalogue.
The article on Martin Parr lists:
- Only in England. London: Media Space, Science Museum, 2013. OCLC 870756771. Booklet accompanying an exhibition of work by Tony Ray-Jones and Parr.
I think that these refer to the same thing, and Parr is so promising in the advertising that I would be a little surprised if it were entirely devoted to Ray-Jones. And I see no source independent of Wikipedia that mentions ISBN 978-1-900747-67-7. Has anyone seen this publication (or either, or both)? -- Hoary (talk) 10:04, 14 April 2014 (UTC)
- They do refer to the same thing. The ISBN is correct. I have it here. There are no photographs by Parr. There are texts by Greg Hobson, Parr; David Alan Mellor and Ian Walker. The photographs are 'The English Unseen: Tony Ray-Jones photographs newly selected by Martin Parr' and 'The English Seen: classic Tony Ray-Jones photographs'. -Lopifalko (talk)
- Excellent. Could you please adjust the entries in the TRJ and Parr bibliographies so that they're correct? (Though even if the ISBN is correct, it seems to have gone unnoticed, so I think it's worth retaining "OCLC 870756771" as well.) -- Hoary (talk) 13:26, 14 April 2014 (UTC)
- I have only seen it for sale at Media Space in the Science Museum and I expect it is available at National Media Museum in Bradford. Maybe this hasn't helped get it noticed. -Lopifalko (talk)
- Ah, sorry, poor phrasing. I meant: Even so far as the publication has been noticed (and that's been limited), the ISBN seems to have gone unnoticed. So the publication is in Worldcat but (at least when I looked) no entry for it there mentioned its ISBN. (Not that an ISBN is always a surefire way of locating the right book.) -- Hoary (talk) 14:25, 15 April 2014 (UTC)
