Dawn Fardell MP
[edit]I wonder if the comment about the current Member for Dubbo, Dawn Fardell MP:
- He was suceeded in Parliament by Dubbo councillor Dawn Fardell who has now since dramatically changed the style of of the Dubbo Independent MP's office from McGrane's "purest independent" to being heavily alligned to the Labor Party.
can be verified? Is there any objective evidence that Ms Fardell is in fact "heavily alligned to the Labor Party" [sic]? If there is would this not be better in an article about her? If there isn't I would propose that the comment be removed. Xdenizen 23:55, 27 January 2007 (UTC)
I've edited the last comment in the article to remove the unverified statement about Fardell's political alignment. Xdenizen 03:15, 29 January 2007 (UTC)
________
I think it is OK
Reading stories in the local Dubbo newspaper suggests some evidence of this. Especially since Ms Fardell dismissed the independent staffers whom worked for McGrane immediantly after election. REF: Daily Liberal - Local newspaper covering area.
________
I still have a problem with it. I think if the statement about Fardell being biased towards the ALP can be verified then you need to provide a link, whether it's to The Daily Liberal or somewhere else. Just because Fardell changed her office staff doesn't means she's alligned to one party or another. Members of the Legislative Assembly have the right to employ new staff upon being elected for the first time.
I'd like to say I'm not arguing that she is a pure independent, just that claims of an ALP bias have to be verififed in accordance with Wikipedia Policies and Guidelines.
Also, I'm not sure that detailed information about Fardell belongs in an article about McGrane. Such things should be listed in an article about Fardell herself. As a member of the NSW LA she's notable enough to have one. Xdenizen 03:07, 2 February 2007 (UTC)
________
Given that no references verifying statements about Fardell being aligned to the ALP have been forthcoing in the last 24 or so hours, I've reverted the article. Xdenizen 23:16, 3 February 2007 (UTC)
