Does not cite any reliable independent sources which properly demonstrate that he passes any of our criteria for determining the notability of musicians. The only "citation" given is his profile on the webpage of his own band, which is a primary source that cannot confer notability, not an independent source. In addition, the user would be much better off following the WP:AFC process to get an article created, instead of trying to do it this way. Bearcat (talk) 21:47, 10 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Not done: As Bearcat says, it would be better to do this via articles for creation. As well as reviewing Wikipedia:Notability (music), you might also want to check out the simple guide to notability on Wikipedia, which will give you a quick overview. I requested a page for Tommy Malone to be created by an editor through this page https://wiki.riteme.site/wiki/Wikipedia:Requested_articles/music/Performers,_bands_and_songwriters, do you know how long this could take? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 50.29.97.5 (talk) 14:14, 1 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Not done: As with #Protected edit request on 10 April 2014 above, please do this through articles for creation. --Redrose64 (talk) 10:35, 20 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]

I have done this through Articles of Creation but it could take months, I was wondering if an editor can approve this and also help have the Tommy Malone page not redirect to The Subdudes page. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 173.77.229.27 (talk) 12:52, 20 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]

I see no evidence that you have done that. If you go to Wikipedia:Articles for creation, you will see a big green box containing the text Click here to create an article now!. If you go through that form, and after completing your article, ensure that you click on the Save page button, it should then show up at Wikipedia talk:Articles for creation/Tommy Malone. --Redrose64 (talk) 15:11, 20 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]

redirect

[edit]

Could the redirect to the Subdudes page be deleted? I am trying to get an article written for him and get content on his page. He is a solo artist with multiple solo albums released. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 74.101.224.108 (talk) 01:09, 16 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Follow the WP:AFC process, as has been suggested half a dozen times above. Bearcat (talk) 17:21, 11 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]

bearcat, your rudeness is unnecessary! that is not what i am asking for, i know that i can go to AFC and have already done so. what i want is for there to be no redirect on his page. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 108.41.205.170 (talk) 16:24, 15 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]

When the time comes that an article is ready to go at AFC, it can be simply moved overtop of the existing redirect by an administrator without difficulty. There's no valid reason to delete the redirect in advance of an AFC submission being ready to go immediately overtop of it — in the meantime, people looking for him do still need to land somewhere relevant. And there was nothing "rude" about my response whatsoever. Bearcat (talk) 16:52, 10 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]

yeah, you're pretty rude and not very helpful. thanks anyways. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 108.41.205.170 (talk) 19:22, 25 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Er, no, neither "rude" nor "not very helpful" describes anything I've said in this discussion — I've done nothing here but be helpful in directing you to the proper processes for getting what you want. Just because the answer to one particular question was "no, we don't have a reason to do that, but here's what else you can do instead" does not mean that you weren't helped — the "here's what else you can do instead" part, by definition, constitutes help.
