Pirates rebranding

[edit]

I included information on the proposal to rebrand the attraction with a Pirates theme. Disneyfile 18:13, 5 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Island annexed by Missouri

[edit]

Is there any proof that the island is a part of Missouri? (206.188.167.197 22:51, 5 December 2006 (UTC))[reply]

  • I removed the statement in question...it's been about three months since the original request for a citation, and a quick google search doesn't seem to turn up anything other than this statement in Wikipedia. -- Doopokko 07:44, 18 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]
[edit]

The URL http://www.miceage.com/allutz/al100306a.htm no longer refers to a valid page and should be removed from the article.

Per WP standards, this link will be re-added using the wayback machine. :) Tiggerjay 19:31, 5 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Title Change

[edit]

As of last tuesday, February 15, 2007, WDI has changed the name to Pirate's Lair on Tom Sawyer Island instead of "at Tom Sawyer Island".

Other Islands

[edit]

I think that you should make a new page for other tom soyer islands. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 72.86.139.137 (talk) 21:30, 31 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

It's a disgrace —Preceding unsigned comment added by 76.246.46.226 (talk) 13:56, 3 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Agreed. I came here looking for origins on the original Tom Sawyer Island theme, and found the page dealing with the Disneyland pirates version and referencing the pirate films. (I was actually trying to see what inspired the theme at Disneyland -- was it a movie made before the opening of the island? The Tom Sawyer movie I just rented was made, I think, in the 60s, so either there was one before, or the theme was picked independently of a film...) There is a serious lack of clarity in the bulk of the article that is addressing just the Disneyland (Anaheim) version of Tom Sawyer Island, creating a lot of confusion. There need to be at least separate sections for the different versions of the attraction, so it will make a lot more sense. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 50.102.219.86 (talk) 01:19, 18 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]

"There was small pirate stunt show ..."

[edit]

When? Why is there not one - apparently - any more? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.177.145.169 (talk) 21:45, 3 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Move Request → Tom Sawyer Island

[edit]

In most parks where it exists, it is known simply as "Tom Sawyer Island". At Disneyland, the artificial island itself is still most commonly known just as "Tom Sawyer Island". Elzbenz (talk) 07:14, 26 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Better description of WDW version

[edit]

There are other elements of the version in WDW that aren't mentioned here. Isn't there a windmill that you can climb into if I recall from my childhood? And I swear there was a restaurant on the island? 99.97.141.22 (talk) 09:06, 15 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
