Passed over in 1924
[edit]Just re-reading "Politicians And the Slump", Skidelsky's study of the 1929-31 Labour government. He makes mention of some incident in 1923 in which Johnston impugned Asquith's honour (or something) in the House of Commons and refused to apologise, and as a result was passed over for office in the 1924 Labour Government. He offers no further details, and neither does the ODNB. Paulturtle (talk) 23:32, 28 July 2022 (UTC)
