[edit]The Togolese delegation consisted of two women athletes in two sports: Alessia Afi Dipol in alpine skiing Petitjean was the flag bearer for the opening ceremony: It appears you forgot to write the rest of the sentence! It is a wonderful world (talk) 02:21, 9 December 2024 (UTC)
Link "Mathilde-Amivi Petitjean" when her name has been added. It is a wonderful world (talk) 02:21, 9 December 2024 (UTC)
Background
[edit]Accordingly, the two athletes of the Togolese delegation were not from Togo.: Uncited, the citation will also need to justify including the information about the climate. It is a wonderful world (talk) 02:21, 9 December 2024 (UTC)

Suggest linking "naturalised" It is a wonderful world (talk) 02:21, 9 December 2024 (UTC)
Dipol has no familial connections to Togo: I'm not sure "familial" is the right word here, since in the next sentence it is explained that her father owns a clothing factory in the country. It is a wonderful world (talk) 02:21, 9 December 2024 (UTC)
Is it possible to explain precisely how she was got naturalised citizenship with no familial connections? It is a wonderful world (talk) 02:21, 9 December 2024 (UTC)
- All the sources I've looked through do not explain how she qualified for Togolese citizenship, only that it was exceptionally quick. I found this article by Rodger Sherman of The Ringer, who claims that she qualified through her father's ownership of a sport clothing factory in Togo. However, this the only source I could find that claims this, as other sources give the fact about her father merely as Dipol's stated reason for representing Togo. Yue🌙 13:15, 14 December 2024 (UTC)
Is "Togolese Ski Federation" something that is notable enough to be redlinked? It is a wonderful world (talk) 02:21, 9 December 2024 (UTC)
- I don't think so; although from what I gather they're an official body, they're incredibly small (a handful of people) and lack reliable coverage outside of mentions of Alessia Afi Dipol. Yue🌙 14:42, 11 December 2024 (UTC)

[edit]I don't think "Main article:" is the correct banner here, that suggests that the linked article goes into more detail about that specific topic. I think the "See also" banner would be better. It is a wonderful world (talk) 02:21, 9 December 2024 (UTC)
She did not finish the women's slalom race, held on 21 February, after starting the first run: Are there any sources which explain why? It is a wonderful world (talk) 02:21, 9 December 2024 (UTC)
- I have looked through several English-language and French-language sources, as well as official documents by the Sochi 2014 Olympic and Paralympic Organizing Committee. I was unable to find a reason for Dipol specifically, and usually these details aren't recorded because there can be a variety of reasons that the athletes may or may not disclose, including sudden unwellness and equipment malfunctions. Dipol was one of two dozen athletes to not finish the first run, and I don't think her DNF result was exceptional enough of a development to warrant an additional investment of time in determining. She may have said it in an interview (I've read and watched the two available online) or on a social media post, but I don't think it's a big deal. Yue🌙 13:10, 14 December 2024 (UTC)

[edit]She competed in the women's 10 kilometre classical race on 13 February. She finished...: Suggest joining these sentences for better flow It is a wonderful world (talk) 02:21, 9 December 2024 (UTC)
I think cut "Despite her finish", it suggests that she performed poorly but this is an opinion. It is a wonderful world (talk) 02:21, 9 December 2024 (UTC)
