tapered roller
[edit]It should be noted that the tapered roller bearing allows for control of thrust. Axial force is resisted as well as radial force. This allows use in such applications as front wheel bearings on automobiles.Longinus876 (talk) 15:32, 22 October 2012 (UTC)
TimkenSteel Split
[edit]I would like to add some information about the TimkenSteel and Timken Company split on June 30, 2014. Any thoughts as to wheter this should be a completely new page? Psimionides (talk) 01:02, 3 October 2014 (UTC)
- I added information to the overview portion about the split. I didn't know if removing the steel production heading would be a good idea or not. I think the creation of a TimkenSteel wiki and linking to it there would be ideal. I also added information to the history portion of the page regarding the company split. Rockwell not mentioned
[edit]A review of the article Rockwell International indicates, strongly, extensive inter-relationships, ongoing, between Willard Rockwell, the various Timken companies, and Rockwell's various companies, including periods when Timken was apparently a subsidiary of Rockwell. Yet this article apparently has NO mention of Rockwell at all. It appears that this is a major omission, that needs fixing. Not my topic, but surely material for the right editor.
