Playing Career

[edit]

Nothing on his playing Career? The Penrith Panthers name Tim Sheens as prop in their 40 year anniversary all-time best team. Is it the same Tim Sheens? —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 159.53.78.141 (talk) 02:01, 6 February 2007 (UTC).[reply]

It's the same Tim Sheens. There's nothing much here on his playing career and the only real detail on his coaching is to do with the Cowboys. I can add in the info from the Panther's 40 year team at the weekend. Florrie 17:06, 25 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Info Box

[edit]

I've added in an info box using the same template as that which appears on the Wayne Bennett (rugby league) page. The information I have added so far comes from archived newspaper reports sourced through AAP and NRL links. If no-one objects I'll also make up a coaching career stats table covering Panthers through to the Wests Tigers instead of the current info which only lists the Cowboys. Citations

[edit]

Does anyone have a reference point for this statement which has been flagged as requiring a citation? "His coaching style includes encouraging players to set ‘personal goals’, using a trust system to encourage players to work on their weaknesses on non-training days, and close media management of his players." Florrie 15:05, 26 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Removed until citation can be sourced or similar found.Florrie 13:51, 3 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

North Queensland Cowboys Box

[edit]

Unless anyone has any major objections, I'd like to remove the North Queensland Cowboys info box from the article. The two succession boxes adequately link to NQC, as it does other teams. Otherwise I'll remove it on 3/6/07. Florrie 03:22, 27 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Removed.Florrie 13:50, 3 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Image

[edit]

The addition of a caption within the infobox is prohibited for this image. I am open to listen to ideas on the addition of a caption within said infobox, and would be open to change, were I to be swayed by these arguments. Lando09 (talk) 10:04, 28 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

The addition of a caption to this image is not prohibited. You have completely misunderstood the word "permissions" on the image template. It is related to permission for the image's use under copyright. You do not have the ability to prevent people putting a caption under the image, a practice which is in fact encouraged throughout wikipedia to provide informative context.--Jeff79 (talk) 10:13, 28 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]
I'm afraid I remain unswayed at the juncture.Lando09 (talk) 10:16, 28 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]
I wasn't actually trying to "sway" anyone. Just stating how it is. You've misunderstood "permissions".--Jeff79 (talk) 10:22, 28 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Should we request advice on the use/intent of "permissions"? Commons:Reusing content outside Wikimedia refers to or any of the many other legal causes which are independent from copyright and vary greatly by jurisdiction. Does an editors personal preferences come under "legal causes"?  florrie  11:55, 28 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]
I asked for advice at Wikimedia [1] and was told a restriction on use such as that would conflict with Creative Commons. Therefore there is no issue with adding/keeping a caption in the infobox. If you are genuinely troubled by that, I would suggest putting the picture in the body text and captioning it there.  florrie  09:54, 29 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

pretty sure I took the picture fella, LV Stand, Block FD, Row R, Seat 105; I was there, where were you?Lando09 (talk) 10:31, 28 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Umm.... Woah.--Jeff79 (talk) 10:33, 28 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]
There's no metadata with the file.  florrie  11:01, 28 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Have accepted the olive branch offered by Florrie and placed my pic in the body text. Lando09 (talk) 10:29, 2 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]
