Some Changes

[edit]

I added some history on Tilley's from personal knowledge, but there should be newspaper sources for the argy-bargy with the cadets. The current description stuff is also from personal knowledge, but it seems a bit relevant.

f there is going to be a listing for Tilley's at all it needs more of the history stuff. The only reason it would merit an 'encyclopedia' reference is its importance as a pioneering women's/queer space in Canberra, and its role as a crucial neighborhood fixture and center of social life in the Inner North, with its high concentration of left/progressive intelligentsia and culture industry workers and the like.

I've been looking through the Canberra Times on Trove, and can't find anything about the cadets. Any ideas of a date? Sam Wilson 02:35, 6 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]
I was a cadet at RMC in 1984 and I never heard of such an ‘incident’. Obviously I can’t rule out the possibility, but I doubt that a ruckus of any scale wouldn’t have been a topic of discussion the following week. May I suggest that the scale of any occurrence has been exaggerated and the incident should be removed unless it can be underpinned by a credible reference. 124.168.240.170 (talk) 22:17, 23 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]
