Citations needed for all information - per BLP

IP users have repeatedly tried to add a birthdate to this page that has no citation supporting it. Before I rolled it back the first time - by me, it had been rolled back by others before - I tried to find a reliable source for the date and had no luck. Per WP:BLP, the birthdate cannot be added without a citation from a reliable source, giving that date.

Please do not try to add it again without discussing it here and reaching an editor consensus. CleverTitania (talk) 04:43, 19 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for that reversion,@CleverTitania, and for the message posted above. I will add that WP:BLPPRIVACY specifies, "Wikipedia includes full names and dates of birth that have been widely published by reliable sources, or by sources linked to the subject such that it may reasonably be inferred that the subject does not object to the details being made public." The kinds of additions that you described are clearly violations of that Wikipedia policy. Eddie Blick (talk) 17:23, 20 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]
