This whole description is terribly written.

[edit]

What do 5"50 and 12"20 mean? I have never seen this way of indicating measurement. It probably should be changed to a standardized measurement. Centimeters/meters would be the best. And is this species an organism or a "shell"? Shouldn't it be written that "this organism produces one of the true conch shells" or "...is considered one of the true conchs" or something similar? I suspect that the organism itself is not entirely made up of the shell. And maybe "Its shell is fairly common, but, given its attractive..." I would change this myself, but I don't know what the author intended. I have, though, italicized the scientific name. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 174.31.121.233 (talk) 19:52, 25 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Citations are needed in the description, as well. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 174.31.121.233 (talk) 19:54, 25 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]
