Fair use rationale for Image: Bob Marley Three Little Birds.jpg

[edit]

Image:Bob Marley Three Little Birds.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image complies with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there are other fair-use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair-use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Talbot vs. Marley

[edit]

I think nearly all of the Connie Talbot version should be deleted. It takes up more space than all information regarding the original, and this seems highly unusual in a Wikipedia article relating to a song. Anecdotal though it may be, I cannot believe most people associate this song with the recent cover rather than the original. I did try to delete parts of this article, but the vandalism bot misinterpreted my actions. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.139.122.134 (talk) 23:35, 15 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

If you feel that there should be more information on Marley's version, feel free to add it. This is an obvious example of systematic bias- there's someone willing to add info on Talbot's version, but no one particular interested in improving Wikipedia's coverage of Marley. J Milburn (talk) 00:58, 17 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]
What people are willing to add is not the standard. Relevance is the standard. Someone would have to make the article 10 times as long as is appropriate in order to balance out all of that Connie Talbot stuff by addition.Originalname37 (Talk?) 18:02, 22 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Maybe it'd be better to split the Talbot stuff off into a separate article, instead of removing it totally. Maybe call it Three Little Birds (Connie Talbot version) or something. Stonemason89 (talk) 17:39, 19 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]
It was merged here because I was told by a GA reviewer that the article should not exist as a stand alone. The Marley version needs expansion, no doubt about that, but the Talbot version hit number one in the US- it's certainly worth discussing... J Milburn (talk) 17:45, 19 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]
For the relatively small proportion of Wikipedia users not already aware, when it come to 'media', 'celebrities', 'famous' people etc., Wikipedia is primarily a vehicle for advertising and promotion. Any encyclopaedic pretensions go out of the window. This is to be expected for a site which does not have professional, expert editors and which is wide open to publicists. As for 'Talbot', I had no idea she existed before I came to this article and will forget that she does as soon as I leave it. The poor kid has been made the subject of media attention and profit for others when she should have been enjoying her childhood. It is such a contrast to the image of the little girl in the original Bob Marley video (see YouTube). If she's very lucky she will grow up with the wisdom to recognise the way she was used for profit by others as a little girl and will move beyond it relatively untarnished and without too many regrets. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 134.219.214.219 (talk) 10:52, 1 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Three Little Birds

[edit]

The "Three Little Birds" title refers to three little birds that would eat his discarded marijuana seeds.

Music Inspiration

[edit]

I present this info for debate. It sounds to me like the music for Three Little Birds was inspired by the song "Beardsman Ska" by The Skatalites. The horn riff in Beardsman Ska sounds like it was morphed into the bass/piano riffs and the entire thing slowed down quite a bit. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 99.246.220.35 (talk) 01:58, 6 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

References to cars in the Maroon5 section

[edit]

I don't know about you but I'm a bit horrified to see so much covered advertisements on this page. Specifically the reference to 3 cars in the Maroon5 section. This sounds like something an advertising company would have added. I don't think this should be on Wikipedia, especially not on a Bob Marley page. (This is my first time using a Talk page and editing something on Wikipedia. I hope I'm doing this properly.) NarF snw (talk) 16:02, 28 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Official Music Video

[edit]

As part of Marley75 celebration Universal Music commissioned an animated music video for “Three Little Birds”, directed by Morgan Powell at Seed Animation Studio and released on 20th April 2020- International Weed Day.

Link to music video on Youtube

"The visual puts a playful spin on the classic Big Bad Wolf fairytales — like Three Little Pigs and Little Red Riding Hood — as well as old-school Disney cartoons to weave together a tale about a pig and a wolf who develop a friendship, all under the watchful eye of the titular three little birds." said Rolling Stone
