[edit]Deleted this section as I think it was there to promote Living Hope ministries. Also, it has been suggested that the videos do not fully/fairly represent his views [1] Doug Weller (talk) 12:27, 11 June 2008 (UTC)
Negative Bias
[edit]This entire article smacks of negative bias and does not present the facts as an encyclopedia article should. There is hardly any citation support for any of the claims made. The entire article is in need of serious revision. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 74.250.23.7 (talk) 22:18, 4 April 2009 (UTC)
- I've cleaned it up a bit, removing stuff that was clearly WP:OR and where citations had been requested long ago and hadn't been found. Dougweller (talk) 05:57, 5 April 2009 (UTC)
- Looks much better. Thanks! 74.250.23.7 (talk) 12:40, 6 April 2009 (UTC)
Excommunication Info Deleted?
[edit]I am curious as to why all mention of the church's attempt to excommunicate Tom and Simon has been completed deleted from the page... —Preceding unsigned comment added by 168.156.251.64 (talk) 20:13, 29 September 2009 (UTC)
- I'm concerned by this, too, as it's a very significant action--Murphy's own church attempted to excommunicate him because he took a very public stance against the authenticity of the Book of Mormon, and there was evidence that this was done (and, IIRC, the sources for such were provided, though there were some statements that needed additional source material to back those up). Murphy and Southerton were both threatened with excommunication for their public position on BoMor; in Southerton's case, he actually was excommunicated (on the basis of another cause having nothing to do with Southerton's BoMor position, which Southerton said upset him greatly). Why were they removed? Scarletsmith (talk) 17:58, 6 October 2009 (UTC)
