[edit]According to Doorkeeper of the United States House of Representatives, Thomas Claxton served as Doorkeeper from 1795 to 1819. The Doorkeeper would seem to be a different Thomas Claxton than the one this article is about (given that the subject of this article was 5 years old in 1795 and had been dead for 6 years in 1819) 63.78.97.2 (talk) 16:22, 25 February 2008 (UTC)
- I'm aware that I am responding to a comment from more than ten years ago, but will answer for anyone else who happens to see this. Thomas Claxton (doorkeeper) is the father of of the Thomas Claxton in this article. They are different people, but are related and have the same name, making it confusing.
