his birth was registered in Q3 1843
he was baptised on 5 August 1843
his age in the 1851 census is given as 7
subsequent censuses every 10 years also give his age as n7 except 1891 which gives 48.

Newspaper reports when he was a candidate and obituaries at the time of his death do give 1841 as his birth year so I won't change it but add circa and a note. Cavrdg (talk) 11:17, 18 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
