How is this not a German victory
[edit]The attack was stop under heavy losses and the Germans held their ground. How is that not a German defensive victory? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 87.181.180.159 (talk) 07:34, 5 February 2014 (UTC) The cost to the Germans in containing the offensive left them in a weaker position and made the ridge more vulnerable to attack. Not all boxing bouts end with a KO and not all battles end with decisive victory, particularly against relatively evenly matched opponents. Both sides rethought their methods afterwards and changed them in 1916.Keith-264 (talk) 07:39, 5 February 2014 (UTC)
