Photo of orphans

Maybe you should put the photo of orphans in the poverty article (see Barriers to opportunities) after this comment in this article: "When it comes to poverty in the United States, there are two main lines of thought. Ferdinand Lundberg said in "The Rich and the Super-Rich" "Nobody, first of all, would be rich if he had not been favored by circumstances. Favoring general circumstances in the United States have been: a naturally rich virgin continent, an enlarging widely skilled population, a basic law designed to facilitate private property under earlier purely agrarian-mercantile circumstances, an expanding technology that took multiplied advantages of agrarian-mercantile law and a plethora of PURCHASABLE officials!..." Delete

This page presents un-scientific theories on the causes of poverty. Some of these theories are racist and classist, such as that poverty is a personal failing. Further, consider that most of the citations point to an article or book published over 20 years ago.

Wikipedia already has a page on the causes of poverty, which is up to date and based upon scientific data. We should delete this page because there's already a better page, and frankly, the so-called theories are unscientific and classist. Mikewinters10 (talk) 13:28, 26 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
