Theodoric is not from the german town freiburg but freiberg. For further information look at de:Theodorich von Freiberg. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 172.179.151.103 (talkcontribs) 15:04, 17 July 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Experimental Instrumentation

[edit]

Using spherical flasks and glass globes filled with water, Freiberg was able to simulate the water droplets during rainfall. Still in its early stages, experimental instrumentation would later expand to be used primarily for making measurements, extending the human senses and creating and isolated environment for the experimenter. During his experimentation with these glass globes, Freiberg was correct in asserting that the colors formed in interaction with the water droplets. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Nmishkin (talkcontribs) 7 October 2008 (UTC)

Theodoric or Dietrich?

[edit]

The name Dietrich is used without warning. I guess Dietrich is his childhood name? It should be explained in the article. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 96.127.207.205 (talk) 18:08, 22 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Dietrich is just the German version of Theodoric (like Thierry, in French, or Teodorico in Italy or Spain); the English would be Theodore, or Theodoric. The sections where the name occurs were added about ten years ago with this edit, apparently copied from the German WP article, and it hasn’t been corrected in all that time.
I’ve standardized the name, for consistency; As the title of the article uses 'Theodoric', and the original versions of the article used that name (and this is the English language WP), I’ve gone with that. I trust everyone is OK with that. Moonraker12 (talk) 18:47, 17 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]
