Talk:The urge
When I edited this article I originally intended to revert some vandalism but upon further inspection much of the information presented on the previous entries was invalid or I was unable to find directly. I instead researched a little and removed all that I could not verify. I also found that some of the text was copied directly off of a fan site for the band so I attempted to re-word these passages and removed sections of the article that seemed to display an opinion rather than any factual knowledge. One major problem is the bands name, which is Urge and not "The Urge". The task of redirecting this article, fixing the redirect for "urge" seemed a little much for now, but it may want to be considered. --Mr. Dude †@£К ║ Çøת†яĭβü†ĬŎИ 04:27, August 21, 2005 (UTC)
Mr Dudes’s edit (or lack there of), or more precisely, Mr Dudes vandalism (deletion) was not consistent with Wikipedia’s “Polices”, i.e. there was a clear violation of “wikilove” and “civility.” As the policy states, one should “please assume good faith when you disagree with someone” and not always assume it be plagiarized. For the past 12 years, I’ve seen this band live multiple times and even had the opportunity to interview Stevie (Atlanta, Variety Play House ~ 1993, opening for Radiohead). As most rock musicians who know THE Urge will vouch for (myself a bass g. player), and ANY real fan of this little known band will tell you, the tone color I used to describe this band is far from “opinion” but instead more a consensus. As most know, music appreciation is not a science but an art form that will always have some form of subjectivity, just ask any editor of Rolling Stone Mag., not to mention the way The Rolling Stones are described on Wikipedia. Furthermore, one could argue that NPOV was also not practiced given Mr Dude’s choice of reference (music.com), a promotional corporate web site. But this is not surprising given Mr Dude’s self promotion on Wikipedia, another taboo. Self promotion is for a personal web site (which he promotes on Wikipedia), not for the Wiki community. But unfortunately, PR is often the case on Wekipedia. Case in point, Mr Dude’s personal Wikipedia post: “Although he is the self appointed super star of his universe, on Wikipedia none have recognized MrDude's excellence [probably due to the extreme lack of it]. One day he hopes to gain the respect and admiration of others.” Dude! It’s pretty darn hard to gain respect via self adulation and not contributing or expanding existing work. I too have made mistakes on this Urge project, and have corrected it accordingly, hence a work in progress. But deleting other’s work for self admiration is not the answer. Even Mr Dude’s easiest task of constructive criticism at times was completely vacuous, as ascribing the band’s name to, “Urge.” JEEEEES NAPOLIAN! All one has to do is listen to their music or simply LOOK at an album cover to know that their name IS in fact THE Urge! To his credit, his reader interface ideas were instructive and are incorporated (expanded) into the current work. So too was his group bio info which I have not had an opportunity to EXPAND. But CONTRIBUTIONS are always welcome on wikipedia. So let’s try again shall we?

"The Urge" not "The urge"
[edit]I'm not sure how to get that U to be upper-cased.
....and when i search for The Urge it won't show up on wikipedia search... it only shows up for "Urge" which is incorrect... it should be "The Urge"
