"The Monks" or just "Monks"

[edit]

I was always under the impression that there was no "The" in the band's name.

The 'official' website the-monks.com uses 'the', so I think it is correct to keep this. --David Edgar 15:18, 5 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]

This article should *definitely* be merged with The_Monks article! Why hasn't this been done already? They are obviously about the same band!!

JC

Since both articles now contain (approximately) the same factual content, and the merge has been left incomplete for months, I now intend to complete it, making The Monks the main article, and this one as a redirect. --David Edgar 15:18, 5 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Monks confusion

[edit]

While it would appear sensible to merge the two existing "the monks" pages (content the same), there remains confusion with another band called "The Monks", which featured ex Strawbs players John Ford and Richard Hudson ("Hud"). Terry Cassidy, John Ford, Richard Hudson, Brian Willoughby, Clive Pearse, Chris Parren were the full band. Albums were Suspended Animation and Nasty Habits; the latter notable for their most well known hit, Nice Legs, Shame About Her Face.

I've now added The Monks (punk band) (for want of a better name) on this other band, and will add a suitable notice to the top of the merged The Monks page. --David Edgar 15:18, 5 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]
