hi, it’s brachy, just going to do a GA review for a kanye article (as a swiftie) it’s going to take a bit long, but it should be faster now that my ipad keyboard is up and running again. (got a new one) (probs the most emotionally hard GA review i did)

Overall

[edit]
  • The box office gross can do a bit of updating.
  • Several FNs are missing author, archive link, etc.
  • Other than that, hardly any issues with 2c
  • Interesting read ngl, has the FA potential (i will gladly support its promotion to FA)

Lead, Pt. 1

  • Pusha T atPusha T on
  • an opening act from Kendrick Lamar on most of the dates
  • made usage ofmade use of
  • second highest is missing a hyphen.

Background

[edit]
  • FN 1 does not support June 2013 or sixth.

  • FN 7 is missing author.

  • the opening city of Seattle was where he also first performed for the Glow in the Dark Tour in 2007. seems a bit trivial.
  • Music programmer Alluxe contributed strings to West and fellow rapper Jay-Z's track "Made in America" from Watch the Throne (2011), while she played the intro from "H•A•M" on the album's accompanying tour that ran from 2011 until 2012. Alluxe handled music programming and live vocal effects for the Yeezus Tour, referring to her work as "controllerism" since she felt this represented the complete process of utilizing hardware controllers to control software. I think it should be paraphrased to Music programmer Alluxe handled music programming and live vocal effects for the Yeezus Tour, referring to her work as "controllerism" since she felt this represented the complete process of utilizing hardware controllers to control software. West previously worked with her on West and fellow rapper Jay-Z's track "Made in America" (2011), and the Watch the Throne Tour (2011-2)
  • FN 21-22 does not support the seventh album being The Life of Pablo. Also its mention is a bit out-of-topic.

Stage and design

[edit]
  • A press release said that... What press release?
  • Scenography and choreography were done by Italian designer Vanessa Beecroft, who worked with West on a listening party for his album when he did not initially know who the rapper was in 2008. Beecroft worked with West on other ventures, such as , his 2010 short film Runaway and the music video of "Only One" in 2015. 808s & Heartbreak is also missing year of release.
  • FN 38: Does not support Each theme's name was projected in white block letters on the LED screen in front of the mountain peak, being introduced over the arena speakers as passages and symbolism from the Bible were utilized.
Addressed. brachy08 (chat here lol) 09:37, 29 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]
  • Devlin noted West's dependence on reflected light like an opera and she compared pointing a light at the crowd during the concerts to pressing "the energy button".

Concert synopsis

[edit]
  • FN 38: Does not support Each theme's name was projected in white block letters on the LED screen in front of the mountain peak, being introduced over the arena speakers as passages and symbolism from the Bible were utilized.
  • FN 5 does not support The mountain erupted with videos showing lava during the segment, as well as pyrotechnics that included sparks and red flares. Could be a mismatch of FN.
  • FN 36 should be moved to the back of Lamar was backed by a four-piece band that altered his beats, contributing licks and bass.
Fair enough. brachy08 (chat here lol) 09:37, 29 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]
  • FN 42 in The rapper was also supported by a guitarist, who delivered a riff for "M.A.A.D City". seems a bit unnecessary (and didn't talk much about Lamar anyways)
FN 42 says See the corny Sunset Strip-style metal noodling that opener Kendrick Lamar's guitarist occasionally unleashed on Tuesday night. when talking about Lamar, so... there isn't that much to support that sentence. FN 42 is still a good source for the article though (mostly the Kanye parts) brachy08 (chat here lol) 09:40, 29 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Brachy0008 I get you now, this has been removed. --K. Peake 09:42, 29 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]
very well, i will pass the article brachy08 (chat here lol) 09:43, 29 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Critical reception

[edit]
  • through the backing guests and stage design: where? (please elaborate, or remove it).
  • tour's themes is not mentioned at all in FN 38.
  •  Comment: the source mentions what have already been listed as themes of the tour earlier in the article, therefore this is what is being focused on by the review and I do not need to recite here. --K. Peake 09:35, 29 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]
alr... addressed above. brachy08 (chat here lol) 09:37, 29 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]
  • In veteran critic Corbin Reiff's 2017 book Lighters in the Sky: The All-Time Greatest Concerts, 1960-2016 that ranks the most seminal concert of each year, he lists the Yeezus Tour for 2013.In veteran critic Corbin Reiff's 2017 book Lighters in the Sky: The All-Time Greatest Concerts, 1960-2016, which ranks the most seminal concert of each year, lists the Yeezus Tour for 2013.
  • ambition of the stage design seems a bit like incorrect paraphrasing. Would love a bit of explanation.

Personnel

[edit]
  • Can't find the list of personnel from pitchfork.

And that should be all from me! Good luck addressing all the points (and in case I missed any, I might add a bit more. Also, really focus on the authors and stuff, the source formatting is a bit of a concern ngl.

Brachy0008 I am honoured you took this review on despite being a Swifty many props haha, all the changes have been implemented to the best of my ability now! In regards to the source formatting, the ones without authors listed do not name any people and using staff would not be suitable since authors are supposed to be those with actual names. --K. Peake 09:35, 29 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]
most of the points have been addressed... there is the FN 42 issue left and other than that, it will be a pass. brachy08 (chat here lol) 09:41, 29 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]
