The Jury

[edit]

I've used the painting 'The Jury' by John Morgan because, despite its anachronisms, it resembles the Chorus more closely than would any swarm of wasps. Besides, we import modern images into ancient drama all the time, mostly at the imaginative level. I doubt it will last long - some other editor is certain to remove it as an anchronism unworthy of a serious encyclopaedia. Lucretius (talk) 04:10, 5 March 2009 (UTC) I've now started to overhaul the article to bring it into line with Aristophanes, The Acharnians, Thesmophoriazusae and Lysistrata, as part of an interconnected series on the life, times and plays of Aristophanes. This shouldn't take long. On the other hand, if Wiki is forever, so is the work of editing. Lucretius (talk) 02:47, 6 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

I have restored the nav box (linking to Aristophanes' plays) to the top of the article because it allows for easy cross-referencing between plays and because it is a useful reminder that each play is best understood in the context of all the plays. Lucretius (talk) 00:13, 11 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]
